Our Friends Wayne and Susan Barcomb

For the past year Scott and I have had the honor of knowing and spending time with Wayne and Susan Barcomb. Wayne writes mystery novels mostly about Sarasota, Florida, although he has written other books based in Boston & New York. We have had so much fun with Wayne and Susan, we wanted to share our experiences with you. To read more about Wayne’s novels go to http://www.waynebarcomb.com/. Scott has read a number of his published novels and loved every one of them. I’m on my third and I can’t put it down. We have met some of the characters from the books at Wayne and Susan’s home gatherings. Too much fun imagining the places and the people we know so well in each of the novels. If you are looking for enticing mysteries, look no further. Once you do read his novels, let me know so we can share thoughts.

I found some information on Ichthyotherapy

What Exactly is Ichthyotherapy?
The concept of using live fish for pedicures stems from Turkey where a fish species of carp (Garra rufa) is used in the treatment of psoriasis. The tiny brownish-green fish, no longer than four centimeters (about 1.5 inches), are toothless and feed on dead skin cells.
The concept called ichthyotherapy (using fish to treat illness) has been adopted by many Asian countries for health and beauty purposes. The fish remove tired and dead skin cells encouraging new growth for a more youthful appearance and it's believed the process also improves circulation.
Today, ichthyotherapy is entering the Western beauty world. Spas in the United States are beginning to use carp for live fish pedicures and massage, leaving customers with smooth skin and something to talk about. Doctor Fish is a Virginia-based company franchising the opportunity

Dr. Fish

I had an enjoyable pedicure last week where I sunk my feet into a fish tank for 15 minutes to allow little fishes eat the dead skin from my feet. It was very comfortable and my feet look and feel much better. It works! Try it at AJ Salon on Bee Ridge.

Marty's Birthday Party

About 9 months ago Scott and I went to his High School Homecoming game held every year on Thanksgiving. His High School is Haddon Heights, New Jersey. While there he saw some old friends and decided to join the Alumni. Two or three months afterwards he read more about the alumni and found that there was another alumni living in our hometown of Sarasota. His name is Dr. Marty Cummings and he lives at Plymouth Harbor on Lido Key. It didn't take long for Scott and Marty to become great friends. Marty celebrated his 88th birthday today September 7th and we gave him a surprise party last night. Marty has become an important part of our lives and we want our friends and family to meet him. Marty is an avid fisherman and takes Scott and I out fishing periodically. Marty has a very interesting life as he was the one who started the National Library of Medicine under Michael Debakey in Washington DC in the year 1964.
